The Sierra Nevada ski resort in Granada achieved the highest revenue in its history during the 2023-2024 winter-spring season, with more than 46 million euros.

This was highlighted by the Junta de Andalucía this Sunday after the ordinary board meeting of Cetursa, the company managing the resort, chaired by the Minister of Development, Territorial Planning, and Housing, Rocío Díaz. During the meeting, the season’s financial results were analyzed.

Díaz emphasized that, despite an unfavorable meteorological season, Sierra Nevada has shown solid economic health, achieving historic figures in both revenue and profitability. Specifically, the company recorded an EBITDA of 12.7 million euros, the second-best in its history, which will be allocated to new investments in the ski resort.

The Minister also noted that the historic investment made in Sierra Nevada, exceeding 90 million euros, is yielding positive results in every aspect. The season closed with more than 1,100,945 visitors, setting a record for non-skiers’ presence.

Additionally, she highlighted the crucial role of the resort in job creation. During the past season, Cetursa provided direct employment to 730 people, as reported by the Junta.

Sierra Nevada once again became the southernmost ski resort in Europe offering the most skiing days during the season, with 149 days, although weather conditions forced the facilities to close for 14 days, plus three partial days, one of the highest numbers in its history.

Regarding the 2024 summer season, it was presented during the board meeting, with the participation of Cetursa’s CEO, Jesús Ibáñez. The summer season will start on July 13 and run until August 25. Among the most demanded offers will be the opening of two lifts, the Mirlo Blanco activity complex, and the Montebajo club’s heated pool.

Additionally, outdoor programs such as hiking routes and electric bike tours are included, along with the astrotourism program that will allow visitors to enjoy Sierra Nevada’s sky with sunrise and sunset observations from Veleta, and the Perseids Night as a highlight event.

The cultural activity will feature a concert by the group Apache, in collaboration with the Granada Music and Dance Festival, and the Sierra Nevada Rock Festival.
