The Kiev Ballet’s 2022 tour of Spain left an indelible mark on our memories, symbolized by the red ink that thickly outlines the ongoing tragedy. In 2023, the Kiev Ballet once again toured Spain’s main theaters and auditoriums, achieving overwhelming success. In 2024, they will return to Spain’s most prestigious stages. The dancers of the Kiev Ballet will once again bring us the tradition of enjoying their version of “The Nutcracker” around Christmas time, a colorful and deeply moving rendition that transports us to the magical and spirited feelings of Christmas.

The Nutcracker

  • Music: Pyotr Tchaikovsky
  • Libretto: Vladimir Beghitchev / Vasili Geletzer
  • Choreography: Marius Petipa

In 2017, the renowned solo dancer of the Kiev Opera Theater, Viktor Ishchuk, realized a long-held dream: the creation of a stable and youthful company that brought together the most prominent stars from across Ukraine to showcase the talent, mastery, and professionalism of Ukrainian artists to the world. The Kiev Ballet includes several soloists from the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater among its members.

Their initial performances garnered the support of Ukraine’s leading figures in the arts and immediately led to invitations from the world’s most important theaters. Since then, they have performed over 500 shows, touring the best stages in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Croatia, China, Ukraine, Mexico, and many more.

The Kiev Ballet’s main objectives include preserving the traditions and essence of the purest classical ballet. Each performance is a feast for the senses, characterized by the sobriety of the choreography, the perfection of every line, the virtuosity of the soloists, and the grandeur and beauty of the sets and costumes, all designed exclusively by the finest craftsmen in Kiev.

The Kiev Ballet is based at the International Center of Culture and Arts in Kiev, Ukraine.
