Mirador de Alixares

Hundreds of visitors flock to the Mirador San Nicolas every day for the spectacular panoramic view if offers of the Alhambra, Granada city, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. But there is another mirador (viewing location) that is rarely if ever mentioned in the tourist guidebooks. It doesn’t overlook the Alhambra, but the view it offers is nontheless impressive – especially at sunset – and there are usually only a few local people there. It is just beyond the Alixares Hotel, near the main entrance of the Alhambra.

Hundreds of visitors flock to the Mirador San Nicolas every day for the spectacular panoramic view if offers of the Alhambra, Granada city, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. How to get there

Walk up the hill from the main entrance of the Alhambra, passing the Alixares Hotel on your right…

Just a few meters beyond the hotel entrance you will see an opening to ascending stone steps….

Follow the path from top of these steps until you reach the pergola…

The view is spectacular, especially at sunset, and the spot is known only to locals.
