Loquillo
Loquillo celebrates a new tour in 2024, “30 Years of Transgressions,” along with an anthology of the best songs from his repertoire dedicated to contemporary poetry, which will be released in the early months of 2024. In this new tour, Loquillo returns with his poetry project that he considers transgressive and nihilistic. For the Barcelona artist, poetry has always meant transformation and has been essential in his more rock-oriented persona. “30 Years of Transgressions” is a unique show filled with songs of poetry in Spanish.
In 1994, Loquillo dared to bring poetry to the stage and turn it into popular music. Since then, he has recorded several albums based on contemporary poetry, and now the best of this work is compiled in “30 Years of Transgressions, Poetic Anthology” (double CD). This collection of 30 tracks will be released in the spring and includes adaptations of works by Bernardo Atxaga, Julio Martínez Mesanza, Mario Benedetti, Jacques Brel, Luis Eduardo Aute, Luis Alberto de Cuenca, and Jaime Gil de Biedma, among others. These poets have been his reference since the release of “La vida por delante” (1994), which went gold, “Con elegancia” (1998), “Mujeres en pie de guerra” (2004), “Su nombre era el de todas las mujeres” (2011), and “Loquillo en Madrid” (2012).
This project will take him back to theaters, accompanied by his usual band, to showcase his poetic side without losing the strength and passion of his live performances. Loquillo has chosen to start his “30 Years of Transgressions” tour in iconic venues such as the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Naturally, Granada will also be part of this tour.
