Founded in 1980 by Lamas Yeshe and Zopa Rimponch\u00e9, the centre was graced by a visit from the Dalai Lama himself in 1982, who bestowed upon it the name “O Sel Ling,” meaning “place of clear light.” Rooted in ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition, O Sel Ling serves as a refuge for those seeking inner peace and spiritual connection. It gained worldwide recognition in 1985 when Osel Hita Torres, born in nearby Bubi\u00f3n, was recognized as the reincarnation of Lama Yeshe.
