In this special concert, Maria Coma \u2014 joined by the voices of Maider Lasa and Elena Tarrats \u2014 will delve into the compositions from her recent Vocal Roots<\/em> and her earlier repertoire, using piano, voice, pedals and vocal polyphony, while also leaving room for a few surprise moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maria Coma is a singer, composer, pianist and performing-arts researcher with roots in the Bergued\u00e0 region of Catalonia and in Mallorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her career includes five full-length albums and tours across Spain, Germany and South America, before settling for seven years in Berlin, where she deepened her exploration of the expressive possibilities of the human voice and body as instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her new work, Vocal Roots<\/em>, sits at the intersection of singer-songwriting, polyphonic vocal music and experimental music, with an emphasis on the human voice and the interplay between body and voice. From within her most intimate artistic universe, Maria Coma creates an immersive space, inviting us to explore her songs while generating sonic and emotional micro- and macrocosms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, 20 February, the El Molino venue in Barcelona witnessed a very special night, charged with emotion and profound music. Maria Coma, one of the most intimate and evocative artists on the scene, offered a concert that transcended a simple performance. (\u2026) The connection with the audience was palpable, each person feeling the emotions overflowing from the stage.
