Elemento Deserto fue concebido bajo un sol de justicia en las cavernosas badlands del campo granadino. Como los westerns filmados en la zona, o como las propias historias populares del secano andaluz, sus canciones tratan de personajes desventurados, deseos de venganza y amores malditos, temas explorados desde el surrealismo, el simbolismo y en ocasiones, el humor negro. Su búsqueda de un estilo único de rock ácido comenzó con “Santoral” (2016), su primer álbum autoeditado, y prosigue con “Los Montes En Llamas” (2019), ya bajo el paraguas del sello austriaco Mai Lei Bel. Este último disco ha cosechado grandes críticas, apareciendo en las listas de mejores discos del año de medios como Ruta 66, Mondosonoro Sur o La Ventana Pop.

Tras el parón provocado por la pandemia, el grupo reaparece en 2021 con los singles colaborativos “Cochinilla Blanca” (con Sebastián Orellana) y “En Latitudes Templadas” (con Unidad y Armonía), que tienen también una gran acogida, siendo incluidos en playlists nacionales e internacionales, y preparando el terreno para el lanzamiento del tercer elepé de la banda: “La Hora Maldita”, editado en marzo de 2022.

En su tercer LP es donde la banda depura y perfecciona su sonido hasta alcanzar su cima creativa, en un viaje entre riffs rocosos y ritmos tribales, pero también melodías cálidas y atmósferas lisérgicas, en esta ocasión enteramente en castellano.

Elemento Deserto se asemeja bastante a un chirimoyo ácido en un oasis al que se llega tras días de sed. Suena como el tabique que da al piso donde Captain Beefheart, Paquita la del Barrio y Leadbelly juegan cada noche su partida de dominó. Produce la misma sensación que ver la

silueta de una muñeca de plástico en la penumbra de la salita, o que descansar en un colorido flotador en una alberca. Recuerda a cuando, tras llegar tarde al insólito escenario de un spaghetti western, había que conformarse con recoger la basura que habían dejado los actores.

Elemento Deserto se jacta de conocer todas las plantas del monte y sus efectos.
